Creativity has always attracted me from an early age, but it wasn't until my life shifted drastically at 17 when my mother was diagnosed with a spinal condition that left her unable to walk. This experience revealed to me, at a young age, the fragility of the human condition and the resilience it demands, concepts that have evolved within me and now shape the majority of my artistic practice.
In 2011, I graduated from the Cuban Academy of Fine Arts San Alejandro, specializing in digital art. This was my first significant encounter with the power of artistic expression, but it wasn't until 2017, when I immigrated to the United States, that self-portraiture became a catalyst for my deepest artistic exploration during a period when I couldn't work. Though isolating, this period marked a pivotal moment in my creative journey, allowing me to use my body as a medium to explore vulnerability and strength, transforming inner emotions into shared experiences.
My work is rooted in surreal visual narratives, a world that offered me an escape and a possible one for those who see it. In this space, I craft intricate scenarios that challenge perception and ignite curiosity. Through my art, I aim to inspire others to view creativity as a journey of self-discovery, healing, and connection, inviting them to ask meaningful questions about our own lives.
